Springfield, Missouri, might not be the first spot that comes to mind when you think of thriving cities. But for me, it’s the ideal balance of charm and business services. The city is full of new things to explore, a bustling employment market, and a welcoming sense of community.

As a financial advisor, Springfield has been the perfect place for me to build my career. With a steadily growing population, the city always needs financial advice. This allows me to specialize in areas like wealth management, private investments, and 401(k) management. In addition, Springfield’s friendly atmosphere allows me to develop long-term relationships with my clients, making my work personally fulfilling.

In this article, I share details about why I love living and working in Springfield, Missouri.

Friendly People

The first thing that strikes many of the newcomers in this city is the friendly people.

While Springfield offers the conveniences of a city with a population nearing 175,000, the citizens also talk of a strong sense of community. Springfield residents are known for being not only friendly, but also very eager to lend a helping hand to others. Local gatherings, such as farmers markets and festivals, encourage this close-knit community by providing opportunities to talk with neighbors and get to know the people who make Springfield unique.

As a financial advisor, three things stand out to me about how the friendliness of this city continues to help my business thrive:

  • Building trust: Because Springfield residents are so approachable and eager to make new friends, it’s much easier for me to build trust with potential clients.
  • Word-of-mouth marketing: In this close-knit community, I often get referrals from satisfied clients who have become my biggest advocates.
  • Long-term relationships: This city’s friendly atmosphere has allowed me to forge many long-term relationships with clients. I’m able to understand their financial goals on a deeper level as I watch their families grow.

Outdoor Activities Galore!

Tucked away in the Ozark Mountains, Springfield, Missouri, is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. You can head out on one of the more than 75 miles of picturesque greenways that wind through the city to experience a little bit of nature at your doorstep. You could also take a hike or a bike ride on the paved Galloway Creek Greenway, which meanders alongside a bubbling creek. Or challenge yourself on the rougher Wilson’s Creek Greenway, which twists through woodlands and rolling hills.

Springfield also offers sparkling lakes and rivers that are ideal for a day on the water for those seeking a more aquatic activity. If you’re into fishing, you can cast a line and try your luck reeling in some bass on Lake Springfield. Or rent a kayak or canoe and paddle the scenic Niangua River, surrounded by lush Ozark beauty. With its abundance of outdoor activity choices, Springfield provides a diverse playground with a variety of trails, streams, and natural locations.

Low Cost of Living

More good news!

Springfield, Missouri, boasts an easy-on-the-wallet lifestyle. The cost of living in the city is significantly lower than the national average, especially when it comes to housing. Whether you’re buying a large house or renting a comfortable flat, you get more value for your money than you would in many other cities.

Imagine having more time to enjoy wonderful local food, save for future goals, and explore Springfield’s bustling entertainment scene with less of your money going toward necessities. Because of its reduced cost of living, Springfield gives you the freedom to live comfortably while pursuing your passions.
